ComfyDownloader

ComfyDownloader is a Windows desktop application that streamlines the process of finding and installing AI models for ComfyUI. It provides a unified search interface across both Civitai and HuggingFace, allowing users to browse models by name and filter by type — including checkpoints, LoRAs, VAEs, ControlNet models, upscalers, embeddings, and more.

When a model is selected, the application automatically detects the correct ComfyUI model subfolder based on the model type, though users can override this if needed. Downloads run in the background with real-time progress tracking, and a built-in log panel records all activity. For HuggingFace repositories that contain multiple files, a file picker dialog lets users choose exactly which file to download.

The application also supports pasting direct download URLs for one-click downloading outside of search results; when a URL is entered, the application automatically analyses it — inspecting the URL structure, filename, and where applicable the source repository’s metadata — to determine the appropriate ComfyUI model subfolder, so files are placed in the right location without any manual input. Civitai API key support is included for accessing gated or restricted models.
